MIRID has eight local chapters to serve as a local extention of MIRID. MIRID oversees the local chapters to help foster leadership roles and give more opportunites to sign language interpreters for professional development. Each chairperson for each local chapter has a position on the MIRID Board. The local chapter meets and conducts business under the umbrella of its parent organization of MIRID.
