MIRID, established in 1970, is a state chapter of the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).  RID was founded in 1964.

 

MIRID assists interpreters in improving their skills, promotes professionalism in the interpreting field, and helps increase public awareness.

MIRID is divided into eight subcommittees (local chapters) which work together promoting professional interpreting services for the Deaf.
