RID Certification
The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf rate Sign Language Interpreters on their skills on a national level. There are many certifications, with the recent recognized standard of NIC. NIC has the endorsement of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), and RID organizations. You may encounter interpreters with older certification from RID or NAD. These highly skilled interpreters with older certifications are still valid and should be viewed with the same caliber as todays certification.
